Matt Saunders is a founding partner of Saunders & Silverstein, and concentrates his practice on trademark and copyright matters. He is trusted by clients of all sizes and industries to manage domestic and international trademark portfolios, and to provide strategic counseling in connection with trademark clearance, registration, licensing, and enforcement.
Matt advises clients with respect to enforcement of their trademark and copyright right through preparing and responding to demand letters and negotiating settlement agreements. He also represents clients in trademark Opposition and Cancellation proceedings before the United States Patent & Trademark Office’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Matt handles domain name disputes through Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy proceedings, and assists clients with taking down infringing copyrighted content from websites and social media platforms.
For his clients with interests outside the United States, Matt devises and executes trademark clearance and filing strategies in coordination with his deep network of foreign law firms. In turn, those firms and their clients trust Matt to advise on and execute trademark registration and enforcement strategies in the United States.
Matt has advised clients on hundreds of transactional matters, including trademark assignments, licenses, and coexistence and consent agreements. Matt is known for his ability to resolve difficult disputes creatively and efficiently.
