Haley Holt helps clients navigate the complex world of intellectual property law. Her practice focuses on trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement for clients in diverse industries, from fashion and food to arts and entertainment.
Haley works closely with both domestic and international brands to protect and expand their intellectual property portfolios while mitigating risk in global markets. Her day-to-day work often involves reviewing new ad campaigns, product and style names, and taglines for use in upcoming collections and collaborations, ensuring her clients’ creative visions are legally sound and market-ready. She also manages the registration and use of client trademarks by sending cease and desist letters, filing letters of protest, negotiating settlement agreements, among other enforcement strategies.
Prior to joining Saunders & Silverstein, Haley honed her skills as a law student at Boston University School of Law’s Technology Law Clinic, where she advised MIT students venturing into the world of technology and business. As emerging inventors and entrepreneurs, they sought advice on both novel and routine legal issues from launching a startup to interpreting a non-compete agreement or protecting their groundbreaking ideas. Haley’s work in the clinic culminated in a guest lecture for MIT PhD students, where she delivered practical advice on intellectual property law tailored to the needs of emerging innovators.
Originally from Austin, Texas, Haley has maintained close ties to the entrepreneurial community there, and enjoys helping dream-makers realize and protect their creative and business visions.
