U.S. Trademark Registration Certificates Now Exclusively Electronic

Jun 15, 2022

As of May 24, 2022, as part of its efforts to make the trademark registration process electronic from beginning to end, the USPTO is no longer mailing printed registration certificates. The USPTO will now send to the email addresses of record a link to an electronic copy of the trademark registration certificate. The certificate will have a digital seal and an electronic Director’s signature. Registration certificates will also be also uploaded to the USPTO website via the Trademark Status and Document Retrieval (TSDR) system, and may be downloaded from there.

Trademark owners who would like a paper registration certificate may order paper presentation copies of registration certifications for $25 per copy, and certified paper copies of trademark registration certificates for $15 per copy. For more information, please visit the USPTO website.
